Sad news, my fellow blogmeisters, I'm packing up and moving to Tumblr. I still hope you'll keep track of me over there, and if you've got an account, please add me!

Devilbird
Here's an in-progress shot of a new piece I'm working on. A little out of the usual vein for me, but man do I love this pen thing. Here's my dilemma, though. I am wondering if I should paint it in with watercolors. Maybe muddy colors, greens, muddy blues, browns. If you have any suggestions, let me know! I need 'em.

Three Falcons.
Two weeks left of school. Massive amounts of portfolio work due. Where is my motivation. Lord help my motivation. What am I doing. I've picked up this weird and satisfying ballpoint pen habit, and I'm drawing devil-birds, that's what.

Swarm Chasers
This is a new piece for my drawing class series. I'm making them progressively more dense, with more values and textures, and color notes to boot.

Birdballs
You're gonna be seeing a few more of these. I'm trying to make depictions of scrambling bird flocks, and trying to figure out the best way to distribute colors and, later, incorporate insects. Any suggestions I'd love!

King of the Hill
This was the second project for my Illustration I class. We were to design cover art for a seasonal gardening magazine. I wanted to incorporate birds somehow, while also displaying one of the company's products, sooo...

Seen That Before
This is a new tattoo design I drew/ painted for my apprenticeship portfolio. It's a pretty standard, traditional thing. Tried to keep to only 3 colors, plus black.

Purpling
These are two purple finches that are going into my portfolio, and into the student show at the semester's end! It's a large drawing, about 22"x 30". Ink, watercolor, salt, and windex. Up to this point, I'm having trouble creating satisfying pieces to show for my portfolio when I graduate; I think I've hit a vein here, and I'm going to stick with it.

Noisenoisenoise
Another talking/ microphone bird. Taking the air by storm! This time I did ink drawings, cut them out, and overlapped them onto an ink-washy background. I liked the effect, so it is to be repeated!

New Things
Okay, an update of the green serpent, and two finished commissions from Christmas break. Since returning to campus, I've been flurrying with some new ideas for portfolio pieces, and I will update with progress pictures of my big commission project for Edinboro's Cooper Hall. If I sound like I'm making promises in order to keep myself accountable to them, it's because I am :P
